IMHO, AQ had a bad batch of DBS units made. I have seen this not only on my units, but many cables for sale. I know for a fact that I never used any cleaner or chemical on them, but when I boxed them up for a sale, I noticed it.

As I said before, I can't understand why the newer X models would sound differently.

Perhaps I should call Alasdair....
