In my experience an average Japanese a/v receiver does help in taming soundbars and the associated audio problems. We listened to a couple of soundbars, but they all made the James Earl Jones, Lion King voice sound like the Chipmunks… or worse. Some movie mixes are great, and others lacking… so it is not exclusively about the equipment.
DC-93
Get the equipment correct and let it all sound as it was recorded/mixed, good or bad!
