Been traveling with my wife the last few weeks

Recommended Posts

Still dealing with my concussion issues (pretty heavy meds), but had already repurchased the weekend package to Joe Bonamassa at Red Rocks last weekend.  2 nights at the Four Seasons, prime rib buffet with open bar, sound check (3 songs) and 5th row center seats) with lux bus to and from hotel.  Second time we have done this one and it was even better than the first.  Great people to meet and the music was sick.  Just sick.

I'm now in Milwaukee about to meet up with two Navy buddies that I was on the Kitty Hawk with in the 80's.  One of the guys I've seen recently, but on Wed we head to see my former stateroom mate who I haven't even texted with since 86.  I really am looking forward to seeing him after soooo many years.

I stopped by  Ultra Fidelis this morning on my way to Milwaukee, but I found out John is closed on Mondays.  I may try to make it there tomorrow or possibly Wed after we check out and head of for dinner at my friends house (he lives over an hour away from Milwaukee).   I have visited his store once and really enjoyed the visit and how kind John was to spend time with me.  I bought something small (cable risers) as I felt badly for taking up his time (it's how I'm wired).

Just wanted to share as a few of you kind folks have asked why I haven't been posting as much recently.  🙂

Love you guys, lol.

The weekend is through the Joe Bonamassa fan club. I joined years ago and get early emails for concert tickets well before they go on sale to anyone.  They have done this same package since 2013.  I already have tickets to see him early March in CT as Foxwoods Casino (smaller, intimate venue).  I guess I'm becoming a groupie.

Good a time as any to strongly suggest wearing a high quality, properly fitted helmet religiously. I got blown off the path a few years back… we can certainly debate the sanity of riding in 40 knot gusts…but it is what it is… 7 fractured ribs and a punctured lung…. but VERY fortunately no brain bleed… time n phase were honked up for awhile….

Yup, my brother had an accident years ago when he was riding a motorcycle. It was the helmet that saved him from serious damage. If I recall it had additional padding/support around the base of the helmet.

Whenever I hear of bike crashes, I think of Charlie (Hansen).  RIP guy.  Glad you guys are all safe and healthy.

Over the weekend it was moist (drizzle), or juicy (rainy).
Yesterday was sunny and warm (at ~70F).
The 42km (25mile) ride was something that in the youth was an hour and half, if not 2and half hours, and there is an extra 1/2 for a latte stop… 😎

I might head out for a short ride today as well.
