Crossover Change

Recommended Posts

Hello.  Long time Vandersteen 2ce Signature II owner here.  I've been reading up on the 2ce Signature III, and some published specs show the crossover between the 10" acoustic coupler and the 8" woofer as 80 Hz.  It used to be 35 Hz.  I even remember reading that the acoustic coupler, crossed over at 35 Hz, acted as a passive radiator for the 8" woofer.  Has the crossover frequency changed from 35 to 80 Hz, and what design choices caused this?

Bert, no change other than to correct the frequency, 80 Hz as it has always been.  RV

To me that separates him from other manufacturers.  Many are available to their customers, but rarely to the extent of what Richard shares.  Some of the smaller company owners are available as they have to for marketing reasons. Richard seems to do it because he loves being involved with his customers and teaching us his WHY.  That's what most of us really enjoy as we know what we hear and don't need the product of the month to tell us.  Tha's rare in audio.
