Huang
If you could only take two classical LPs to a desert island. What would they be and what releases of them would you take?
TomicTime
I’m certainly no classical savant …nor a devoted fan…. but these both have emotional history with / for me… The Fritz is AAP 45 rpm….

Huang
I am trying to raise my appreciation of classical music, my original post is my lazy & frugal method of getting some of the good stuff to add to my collection. I was spurred by a post regarding Dvořák* / Bruch* - London Symphony Orchestra, János Starker*, Antal Dorati – Violoncello Concerto / Kol Nidrei which is on its way to my TT. So, if you pick only two they would most likely be high up on your favorites list!
Huang
Thanks Jim ,I have a R2R version of Reiner doing Scheherazade, and from another post I just ordered Tchaikovsky* / Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra / Myung-Whun Chung, Rachmaninov* – Symphony No.6 »Pathétique« / Vocalise. That Seoul Philharmonic version of Symphony no 6 must be really good or really bad, nothing on Discogs,or eBay. I love exploring music!

JackStraw
I’m bringing these. I guess I’m sorta a Starker guy (though there are so many others as well). Hope you enjoy the Dvorak and Bruch as well👌

John Gallup
This isn't classical (in the sense of 17th-18th century) but it's an amazing piece of serious music. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Symphony_No._3_(Górecki)

John Gallup
Kind of a pot-boiler, but I love it. When the last movement starts, you'll see why they call him "E. Powerful Biggs."

Stringreen
All of these suggestions are "old school". Try anything by Greg Brown. HW from VPI suggested these cd's to me......I've enjoyed them and still do ....for years.
