I don't trust the iPhone apps, either - I take their readings with a grain of salt. Want proof of their variability? Simply watch their readings if an e-mail or text comes in when measuring. I set to "airplane mode", turn off Bluetooth, and kill all background apps, but still... An incandescent strobe says my speed is "accurate" and "stable", but, you know...us audiophiles like to know if we're talking about 33.3 RPM (with an unknown hundredths place, 33.30 RPM, or 33.35 RPM. The Wow and Flutter measurements, while not taken as absolute measurements, can show directionality in terms of improvement or degradation. 1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
