Yeah, car colors have gotten progressively trickier.  I work for a car company and we do some colors as a triple coat option where each coat has a slightly different chemistry and curing process.  The effect is colors that look infinitely deep.  Amazing to look at, but hard to replicate outside of a $30M paint booth.  XD
