yyzian
Greetings All, English isn't my first language nor am I an engineer, so bear with me. I have been searching this forum and others but unable to find an accurate response. Any help to below question is highly appreciated. I just purchased a used Vandersteeen Quatro - non wood or non CT speaker. I am reading on how to setup the M5HPB cross over and not able to understand the below requirement from the manual. "With balanced amplifiers, the M5-HP crossover must be set to match the sum of the positive and negative legs of the input. (The individual legs must each be exactly one half the impedance.) If the individual legs do not both have the same" I have an Ayre V5XE amp which is rated at 100K ohms input impedence, and I will be connecting my preamp via balanced connections. Question: So do I setup the dip switches to 100K or 200K for each side? Link to Ayre specs is at https://www.ayre.com/products/archive/v-5xe/#FEATURES-SPECIFICATIONS Kind regards

alcohydro2
Would one expect to have to go through the 11 band setup again after changing to the correct setting. ARC 150 SE 300K dip switch setting to 600K?
TomicTime
possibly… RV most likely can weigh in on how and how much the filter turnover point changed between the two settings… did much change sonically is of course the acid test ? i would definitely revisit Q and level, especially level w scaling acoustic bass when evaluating sonics… Jim

ARC 150 SE 300K dip switch setting to 600K? 300K is the correct input impedance for your amplifier so you don't want to set the M5-HPB to 600K. It would not change the 11 band EQ only the Level and Contour would need adjustment. RV
