DC-93
Can a time and phase coherent speaker have anything but a first order crossover?
Richard Vandersteen
No, it is impossible without DSP! RV 1

Richard Vandersteen
It does but with enough latency DSP can totally reconstruct any signal to be Time and Phase correct but all this processing is not free and has a significant sonic penalty as all digital processing does. Somewhat similar to how analogue computers were once a thing. One can argue that a capacitor and resistor require fewer parts. Or we can argue that changing S/W for digital domain (DSP) allows more variations to be tried. Or we can just argue… etc… 😁 Edited February 20 by Holmz
Richard Vandersteen
No argument about anything digital missing the mark compared to an analog system of equivalent money, IMO! RV 1
