12AWG or 14AWG speaker wire?

I am using two pairs of speaker wires for my 2Ci's. Right now I'm using 14AWG. Should I change to 12AWG? They are short runs, 6 feet right now and I might shorten them to 3 feet if I change to 12AWG.

If there is a difference in sound between 12AWG and 14AWG it won't be the gauge that makes the difference but length with either will.  RV

The Kimber 4TC is equivalent to 13ga.
I would go the 8 or 12, which are 9ga and 8ga respectively.

There are certainly more expensive options, but at that price point, the Kimbers are not a bad choice (IMO).
I guess if it is bi-wired then 8TCs top-n-bottom would also be a choice.

As RC said… Keep em short if you can.

Home Depot sells different gauges of lamp cord. Great price point. 

The electrons don't know what brand they are travelling through to the speakers.

I cut my speaker wires in half so now they are closer to 3 feet. I am impressed by the improvement in sound quality. I'm hearing more detail and resolution now.

Glad to hear you this. I am always impressed by how shortening speaker cables results in better sound.
