ctsooner
Funny as most folks in know who change them ever 5 years never have any issues. I often hear of folks having issues with much older Vandersteen's and when you read, you know it's just the batteries.

TomicTime
the most common failure mode for a battery is not pretty….as a result the Toslink button no longer works…
ctsooner
So sorry Jim. That does suck. I had a battery leak in my large Ayre remote. I took it to Denver with me two years ago for the Joe Bonamassa concert at Red Rocks. Drove up to see Gary (no longer with them), Ryan and the guys and asked them to help me out. they were able to pry it open to see that it was a ruined battery. Ryan just took it to the bench and fixed it and installed a new battery holder. I was very fortunate as I have to have a remote... I bet we all have a remote story, lol.
