Being one to save money, I thought cables were pretty much the same, UNTIL I auditioned the new AQ speaker cables and power cords. Yes, they did make a difference for the better. One thing that was mentioned is using old glass insulators to support cables. That sounds like a great way to recycle something old to a new use. Plus, it looks cool. Not incredibly cheap unless you keep your eyes peeled, but much more cost effective than many. And yes, they look cool too 😎 As far as speaker wire? I found a guy who makes them from NOS Western Electric wire. Bought a couple bi-wire sets from him. The wire was from the 1940’s IIRC, and are about 10 gauge or more. Interesting that there are over 200 feet of wire, just in a pair of woofers, and a few yards of high dollar speaker wire will be "magical"? 😂 Like a lot of things, it's all about the size!
