Steve Edwards
My appreciation for Tony Joe White (a.k.a. The Swamp Fox) has been previously expressed in this section. His sound, referred to as swamp rock, funk and blues, is unique, as is his baritone voice. I recently came upon this title from 2004, and it's a real gem. It appears there has never been a vinyl version, but the sound on this cd is quite engaging, particularly the imaging. And, he's got a fine group of guest artists participating as well. If you're unfamiliar with his work, this is a great starting point; highly recommended.

I think he flew under a lot of folks radar, but his two tunes Polk Salad Annie and A Rainy Night In Georgia got a lot of airplay. Another great TJW album is Homemade Ice Cream. Analog Productions reissued it a few years back ......... a sonic masterpiece IMHO. I'm not sure if the 33 version is still in print, believe they are now doing a 45rpm.
