Has anyone seen this?

Recommended Posts

I like to get updates on all things Vandersteen, but this item popped up today.

I have never seen an M5-HP with what looks like a BNC connector and two RCA pigtails.

TMR audio is a pretty respected retailer, so I guess it is real.

But, is it something Vandersteen built? Or, a FrankenM5?

I believe this was a custom pair for bridging some BEL amps many years ago.  RV

You start with a stereo amp and the M5-HPB must be driven by a balanced signal.  Pin #2 goes in one channel and pin #3 goes in the other channel inputs.  The speaker is connected to the red terminal of each channel with a jumper connecting the 2 channel black terminals together.  This is not recommended without checking with the amp manufacture because it could blow the amp up!  RV

Yikes, this sounds very amp specific.

I wonder why Music Room would offer them for sale? Though BEL amp owners would probably know of it.
