No Bruskie, no adhering involved. Richard uses a specific felt, which seems to grip the floor. But, by carefully holding diagonal corners of the base, they can be slid (as I just did mine a couple inches closer to each other) on the floor.

audioNeil
Nice system! It is very similar to mine (almost the same ancillary equipment) except I have the Kento Carbon. The best part of the system - the worn leather chair 🙂
Bruskie
Hey @audioNeil, those Kentos are sweet for sure. I heard them at Johnny Rutan's and was blown away with their speed and purity. Have you considered moving up to Richard's amps? That will most likely be my next major upgrade. Welcome to the forum, this community is wonderful. audioNeil
I did audition the M5-HPA's, and I liked many things about them, but I eventually decided they weren't for me. Perhaps one day I'll bring them back for an audition, but I'm happy with my Pass Labs X260.8's right now.
ctsooner
All that matters is what you love. When I went to Richard's amps from my Ayre, it was night and day. I was shocked and very happy. There are many great amps out there.
Stringreen
.....just wondering if anyone has used Vandershoes under other components (amp, turntable, preamp) with similar positive results. All my components are sitting on spikes with brass cups except for my 5A's with newly installed Vandershoes Edited May 8, 2023 by Stringreen forgot to include the last sentence

ctsooner
As we all know, he uses a special felt that doesn't slide. I would assume that at worst, it won't hurt and they are not expensive. That would be interesting to hear the differences if there are any.

But ........... it takes a fair amount of elbow grease. Which, I think, is a good thing. The "tackiness", for lack of a better word, most likely prevents ANY slipping from the energy of the drivers. Glenn
Nice one, Bruce. I can attest to the sweet sound of this system and Bruce's room.
